Recently, the Indiana Housing Community Development Authority (IHCDA) contacted the Hoosier Chapter regarding the announcement that waste services can be included as an eligible utility under the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP).  This U.S. Treasury program is administered by the states.  It is designed to help eligible renters to stay in their home in the face of the economic challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.  Under the IHCDA’s program, the service provider (private or municipal entity) will gather documents to establish the eligibility of the tenants for the program and submit this documentation to the IHCDA for direct reimbursement.  The IHCDA will create a website and instruction sheets to help streamline this process.  As we get more information, we will pass it along.

Please contact the Hoosier Chapter with any questions.
